 Currency: Euro; however, near the border with Northern Ireland, the English Sterling pound is accepted as payment although the change is always given in euro.
Common Language: Irish and English.
Documentation: National identity card or passport in force.
Public health: European health insurance card.
Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and Maestro are more accepted. American Express and Diners Club are becoming increasingly accepted.
Business Hours: Since 9:00  or 10:00 am until 18:00 pm from Monday to Saturday included.

Be "Au Pair" in Ireland

Age: 18 - 27 years.
Minimum knowledge of the local language.
Minimum stay of 3 months in summer periods; 6 months rest of the periods.
Enjoy good health.
Have no criminal record.
As refers to cigarette smoking, habits of the house must be respected (it is easier to find a family)
Work 5 -6hours/day, maximum 35h/week.
Free Days: 1-2 days per week.
Pocket  money around 80-85€ /week
Baby-sitting:-2 nights.
Tasks: Takes Care of children and does housekeeping related with them, for example: takes them to school, to the park, feeds them, cleans their rooms, plays with them and helps them with the language. Performs light work in the house and deals with his room. Also they may be asked to take care of children 1 or 2 nights a week.
The "Au Pair" pays its round trip and will be picked up by the host family at the airport (If there were any changes should notify so that there would be no problems).

Report on the norms of coexistence of the house.
Support and Training the "Au Pair" to improve their language skills, with the housekeeping rolls and with the care of children during the adaptation.
Availability of a separate bedroom for private use by the "Au Pair".
Right to full feed during the stay, totally free of charge. This does not mean that must do the cooking. It is a member of the family and has the right to eat what we eat at home. If the family is going out for lunch, she or he has the right to use the kitchen and cook.
Deliver pocket money from 80-85€ per 35 hours of work per week. In the event that the family may require extra help they will compensate the "Au Pair" with an extra money or free time, as agreed upon with him or her
Provide weekly rest of 1or2 days, depending on the number of hours worked.
When the "Au Pair" stays for 6 months with the family, he or she has right to 1 week of paid vacation and 2 weeks if it is 1 year.
If English classes are to be held away from the family home, you should facilitate transportation.
In the event that should be necessary that the "Au Pair" uses a family car, it will be necessary to subscribe  modify the insurance of the car for driving by the "Au Pair" in
The "Au Pair" must always be able to contact the agency.
In case of coexistence problems and if a solution cannot be found, the agency shall be notified and will have 2 weeks to find a solution.

Important: the "Au Pairs” are not nannies nor employees at home, so that they should not be required full responsibility for children or housekeeping.
